Questions for Buyers

How do I register?

The first time you access the site as a Buyer, you can register here

How do I bid?

It’s simple. Once you locate a vehicle on which you would like to bid, click on the bid link for that vehicle and enter in the amount you are willing to pay. If your bid is the largest, you will automatically become the highest bidder. At the end of the auction, if you are still the high bidder, you win!

Will I get updates on the auction?

Yes. You will receive an email notification when you place your bid, if you are out-bid, and if you won the auction.

I thought the auction was almost over. Why did the auction clock reset?

If a bid is received in the last two (2) minutes of the auction, the clock will reset for an additional two minutes after every new bid until no additional bids are placed. This is to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to place their bids.

Can I cancel once I’ve bid?

No. Once you’ve entered in a bid, you have made an offer which cannot be cancelled.

Will I know if there is a reserve on a vehicle I’m bidding on?

If the vehicle is being offered without reserve, we will note that information on the listing. Otherwise, the reserve amount will be held confidential.

I’ve won! How do I pay?

Upon conclusion of the auction, both the successful Buyer and the Seller will receive each other’s contact information via email.  This transaction will be concluded entirely between Buyer and Seller. We do, however, suggest obtaining a copy of the title and bill of sale prior to sending payment and obtaining full coverage insurance on the vehicle.

Is there a fee payable by the winning Buyer?

When a bid is placed on the site we are charging a 2% fee for the winning bid. Whenever someone makes a bid, we automatically put a hold on their card for 2% of what they put down for a bid until the auction is over. Once the auction is over we release all holds and process the payment for the winning bid.

How do I get my vehicle?

Shipping is arranged between the winning Buyer and the Seller. As the Buyer, you will be responsible for shipping.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards.

Can I have the car inspected prior to bidding?

This is something that we would encourage you to do. However, this is between you and the Seller of the vehicle. Please contact the Seller to arrange to have the vehicle inspected.

Questions for Sellers

How much does it cost me to sell a vehicle?

For a limited time only, as a Seller, you will pay NOTHING to list your vehicle. This is subject to change at a later date without notice.

What is the submission process? Who writes the listing? Can I make changes after posting?

Seller will upload 15-20 photos and provide a narrative regarding the vehicle. We will then include general factual information regarding the make and model of the vehicle. The Seller will have an opportunity to review and approve the listing prior to posting. Once you approve the final vehicle listing, you will not be able to edit the submission.

How long will my vehicle be listed for auction? Is it limited to business days?

Your vehicle will be listed for auction for ten (10) days. Auctions may end on any day of the week.

Can I cancel my listing?

No. Once an auction has been submitted it cannot be cancelled.

What’s a reserve?

A reserve is the minimum amount that the Seller will accept as the winning bid on the auction. The purpose of setting this is to prevent the auction from being won by a bidder who offers a price lower than the Seller is willing to accept. We can work with you to set a reasonable reserve. The amounts of these are not shown on the listing, other than to note if there is ‘no reserve’, and you are free to lower this at any time during your auction.

Can I list my vehicle anywhere else while I have it listed with Bid, Buy & Drive?

No. Your listing with Bid, Buy & Drive for a particular vehicle must be exclusive during the time that your auction is running.

My vehicle sold! What now?

After the auction is closed, the winning Bidder and the Seller will be provided with each other’s contact information via email.  This transaction will take place solely between the winning Bidder and the Seller.

How do I ship the vehicle?

Shipping is arranged between the winning Buyer and the Seller. The Buyer will be responsible for shipping.

Can I relist a vehicle that doesn’t sell the first time?

Yes you can, although you will need to repeat the submission process and pay a new Seller’s fee. If no Seller’s fee was assessed on your original submission, we reserve the right to assess an administrative fee for posting the renewed listing.

General

Do you offer a referral incentive?

Yes we do. If you refer a Seller who subsequently lists a vehicle, you may be eligible for a referral credit of $25. However, the Seller must list you as the referring party in their submitted documentation.
